October 1997 Eastern Nebraska Snowstorm

The snow gauge indicates that almost 16 inches of snow
fell in my backyard with a broken and twisted Magnolia tree
coated with snow in the background.

Lincoln, Nebraska is certainly a place with large contrasts in weather.
Here is the same scene, same calendar day (October 27) but different years
October 27, 1997.  A record low of 8 F.. October 27, 1999.  A near record high of 86 F
