RECORD SNOW DEPTH FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY AT OMAHA

THE SNOW DEPTH AT OMAHA EPPLEY AIRPORT AS OF 600 PM WAS 26 INCHES. THIS IS A NEW RECORD FOR SNOW DEPTH IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY. THE OLD RECORD WAS 18 INCHES...WHICH WAS SET IN 1965.

ANOTHER STRONG WINTER STORM MOVED ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS THIS WEEK. UNLIKE THE PREVIOUS TWO QUICK MOVING STORMS...THIS STORM WAS SLOW TO DEVELOP. ON AVERAGE...AN ADDITIONAL 7 TO 10 INCHES OF NEW SNOWFALL WAS RECORDED ACROSS EASTERN NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA.
SNOW DEPTHS CONTINUE TO INCREASE AND OMAHA EPPLEY SET A NEW RECORD  FOR SNOW DEPTH FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY WITH 26 INCHES. THE ALL TIME SNOW DEPTH RECORD IS 27 INCHES...RECORDED IN MARCH OF 1960.
