Hydrothermal Features in Yellowstone National Park
Most of these features shown below were located in the "geyser basin between
Old Faithful and Madison within the Park (note the map at the photo index page).

Yellowstone contains approximately one-half of the world’s Hydrothermal features. There are over 10,000 Hydrothermal features, including over 300 geysers, in the park.

Mineral deposits in the run-off from the geothermal springs have created this colorful landscape.
